Sanad Village, the region’s largest autism rehabilitation centre, is hosting its first-ever Sustainable Carnival on Saturday, 9 November — a celebration of inclusivity, sustainability, and community. This fun-filled event, hosted in partnership with BackLite, promises something for everyone, from hands-on art to eco-friendly initiatives. Here’s what makes this event a must-visit!
1. Transforming Waste into Fashion – In collaboration with BackLite, a leader in advertising, Sanad Village is pioneering a new recycling initiative. Their PVC advertising waste will be repurposed into stylish and eco-friendly tote bags, blending creativity with sustainability.
2. Recycled Waste Art Station – Both kids and adults can channel their inner artist by creating masterpieces from recycled materials. This hands-on station turns waste into wonder, encouraging creativity and environmental awareness.
3. Honey Extraction Experience – Get up close and personal with nature with the Honey Extraction Experience, guided by professional beekeepers. Learn about the importance of bees and taste the sweetness of sustainability.
4. Magic Show – Magic Phil’s magic show performance is sure to entertain the whole family. Guaranteed to have everyone laughing as this performer wows his audiences with magic and storytelling.
5. Outdoor Cinema for Kids – Now that the weather has cooled down, it’s the perfect chance to kick back, relax, and enjoy a cinematic escape in the open air. A selection of family-friendly movies will be screened.
6. Skating with Professional Coaches – Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, professional skating coaches will be on hand to help you glide and groove. Gear up for some skating fun and make some memories on wheels!
7. Market Stalls with Handmade Goods – Support local artisans and discover new treasures at our handmade goods market. From eco-friendly gifts to unique art pieces, these stalls offer something special for everyone.
8. Drumming Circle with African Drums Feel the rhythm and get moving in our interactive African drumming show! This engaging experience invites everyone to join in and feel the energy of traditional rhythms.
9. Family Fun with Pony Rides and Rabbit Petting – Connecting with nature and allowing kids to interact with animals up close is a key part of learning about the harmony of our planet and nurturing their sustainable spirits.
10. Eco-Friendly Initiatives – From free water refill stations (don’t forget to bring your own bottle!) to waste-free food stations, the Sanad Sustainable Carnival is designed with the environment in mind. Let’s reduce, reuse, and recycle together.
