Repton Al Barsha’s Ismail Al Rantisi Wins Prestigious BSME Award for Exceptional Community Service.
As the Holy Month of Ramadan brings communities together in reflection, generosity, and service, Repton Al Barsha is proud to announce that Sixth Form student.
The BSME Ed Goodwin Award for Exceptional Service is an annual award established to honour students who go above and beyond in their efforts to support and uplift their communities. Named after Ed Goodwin, a visionary in British education in the Middle East, the award seeks to encourage students to develop a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and social impact. It celebrates those who make meaningful contributions through volunteerism, advocacy, and charitable initiatives, a spirit of generosity and responsibility among young people.

From the moment Ismail joined Repton Al Barsha’s Sixth Form, he has demonstrated an extraordinary spirit of giving, and his profound devotion to service and compassion has shone brightly. His initiatives include organising heartfelt gifts for the school’s dedicated support staff, spearheading celebrations for the Festival of Lights, and leading extensive fundraising efforts for the Sparkle Foundation in Malawi. His ability to contribute so significantly within just a few weeks of joining the school highlights his generosity and leadership.
Ramadan is a time of selflessness and giving, and Ismail’s remarkable dedication reflects these principles in action. His passion for making a difference embodies the spirit of the Holy Month, inspiring his peers to embrace kindness, charity, and community engagement.
Commenting on his achievement, Janice Williams, Head of Sixth Form at Repton Al Barsha, said: “Ismail’s dedication to service and leadership is truly inspiring. His selfless contributions to both our school and the wider community reflect the core values we seek to instil in our students.
