Brighton College Abu Dhabi is celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results today, with 23% of pupils securing the top Grade 9
This year, the College’s pupils have excelled with 23% scoring Grade 9s, 43% achieving Grade 9 – 8 (A*), 63% awarded Grade 9 – 7 (A*-A), 78% receiving Grade 9-6 (A* – B) and 91% attaining Grade 9-5 (A*-B/C). These impressive grades highlight the outstanding academic support and inspirational teaching that pupils at the College receive, and the exceptional effort and endeavour of the pupils themselves.
The success of Brighton College Abu Dhabi pupils extends across a wide range of subjects. In Modern Foreign Languages, 84% of GCSEs were awarded Grades 9 or 8, with 67% of grades in Mandarin achieving the top Grade 9. In the Separate Sciences, 60% of grades were at Grade 9 or 8, 50% of all grades in Further Mathematics was a 9, and, in the Humanities, 83% of grades were awarded at 9-7 (A*-A).
High achieving pupils celebrating top level grades this year include:
- Narain Ayathan: 10 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 8
- Jonas Hunt: 9 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s
- Sara Barbieri: 6 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s
- Aliaa ElMakhzangy: 7 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s
- Margaux Spitz: 8 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s
- Maya Talaat: 5 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s
- Aya Mikati: 5 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s
Commenting on these remarkable achievements, Jennifer Walters, Head of Senior School at Brighton College Abu Dhabi, said: “After last week celebrating our pupils’ outstanding A Level achievements, I am thrilled to comment on the achievement of Brighton College pupils in their GCSEs. Our pupils have returned a wonderful set of GCSE results, and I am delighted that all their efforts and the support of their parents and teachers has been rewarded. I am exceptionally proud of everything that has been achieved and would like to both congratulate and thank our pupils for the endeavour, determination and resilience they have demonstrated over many months of learning and study.
