The Pre-Prep at Brighton College Dubai offers a uniquely nurturing and supportive environment that feels like a ‘home away from home’, prioritising the pastoral care and happiness of its pupils and setting the stage for their academic success with an emphasis on providing a holistic learning experience for all. Due to the smaller number of form entries, the school offers a more authentic experience of a ‘true British Prep School’, where everyone knows each other, and the children can truly feel ‘at home’.
Academically, the children consistently exceed age-related expectations. Part of this success can be attributed to the fact that the children are not only taught how to read well but are taught how to enjoy reading – through daily story times, welcoming reading spaces and fun events such as author visit and World Book Day.

The school places a great focus on smooth transitions between different stages of education, which starts with the transition from nursery/home to FS1 – with our School Readiness programme, Bright Start. This programme aims to ensure that pupils joining FS1 feel secure, happy, and confident as they begin their academic year, by hosting weekly sessions for the children in the months leading up to the beginning of their first ever academic year. Alongside supporting the children, the programme offers parent workshops covering various topics, including an introduction to Brighton College and its core values, the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, communication and language skills, independence development, and toilet training assistance.
Fostering confidence, curiosity, and kindness in our pupils is at the heart of everything we do. These values are actively promoted and integrated in the daily activities and curriculum. Instilling these values ensures that the pupils’ academic success becomes a consequence, rather than a goal, and doesn’t create any unnecessary pressure. As such, the pupils thrive academically and are given the opportunity to be autonomous in their learning. No ceiling is set for a pupil, and all are challenged to reach their full potential. The school understands the importance of cultivating learning skills in children, and it accomplishes this through a unique approach that links animals to thinking skills.
