Treat the tastebuds to flavours of Sardinia with a special culinary experience for two nights only, 27 February and 1 March 2025
Ciao Bella at Media One Hotel and Larte at Studio One Hotel are set to welcome renowned chef Giovanni Melis, who is gearing up to host an intimate supper club this February and March, plating unexplored flavours of Sardinia to the charming Italian restaurants, with an experiential dinner and handpicked grape pairings.
Chef Giovanni’s career is nothing short of impressive. With a professional journey spanning over 20 years, the seasoned chef has cooked for some of the most influential individuals and organisations in Italy and beyond. In 1998, aged just 24, Melis was awarded “Best Young Chef of the Year, Germany”. Melis spent three years as a private chef for Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and was also the head chef for the Italian national football team. A testament to his skill, consumer guide Consumo launched a cooking show with him titled “Cook It like Gio” in 2019. Not only is Giovanni Melis a revered chef, but he has also spearheaded openings for Italian restaurants all over the world, including for the renowned Kempinski hotel chain, along with five-star hotels in Sardinia and Switzerland. He is now the co-founder and manager of La Colombe Boutique Hotel in Zug, Switzerland with his partner.
As part of the luxe supper club, guests will get an insight into Sardinian traditions, reinterpreted with a modern and refined twist, through Chef Giovanni’s incredible menu. Transforming the two venues into a corner of Sardinia, the experience will highlight the charming Sardinian cuisine through dishes such as Octopus Carpaccio with Myrtle, Balsamic Pearls and Bottarga; Crispy Sardinian Fregula with Sea Urchin Cream and Saffron; and Milk-fed Lamb with Carasau Crust and Cannonau Sauce. Guests will also enjoy thoughtfully selected grape pairings with the exquisite 3-course menu, which will also pay tribute to the culturally rich island of Sardinia.
Ciao Bella at Media One Hotel will host Chef Giovanni’s supper club on Thursday 27 February at 7pm, while Larte at Studio One Hotel will welcome guests for their popular Live at Larte Supper Club experience with the guest chef on Saturday 1 March at 7pm, with prices starting from AED 299 per person for a 3-course dinner with wine pairings.
