Our students do have a long track record of excelling academically and this year our GCSE students achieved an impressive 91% at grades 9 – 7
Dubai College enviable reputation stems from our consistent and sustained excellence in what we see as the four pillars of the College; sporting, creative, philanthropic as well as academic endeavour.
Kathryn Hill, Head of Middle School said: These are truly stellar results for our Year 11 students. They have broken our already outstanding record for GCSE achievement and should be incredibly proud of their efforts; the hard work has most certainly paid off! I congratulate each student on their attainments and wish them great success for the next stage of their education; they can move forward with confidence.
Mike Lambert, Headmaster said: “I am really delighted with these results for the whole Dubai College community. As they say it takes a village to raise a child and every member of our school from our accounts staff to our maintenance team and of course our outstanding teachers and supportive parents have worked together with our students to secure these grades. The Year 11s should be especially proud of their achievements securing the highest % of 9-7 GCSE exam grades ever in the school’s history, setting themselves up very well for their A level studies.”
Key highlights: Remarkably 32 of the 150 students achieved straight 9s and 73 students achieved straight 8s and 9s. Overall the average grade for all students at GCSE was 8.34. There is often an assumption that because Dubai College is an oversubscribed school and therefore selective, we should be getting these results. Perhaps surprisingly to the outside world, however, our value added is red hot for both GCSE and A Level and place Dubai College among the top 10% of schools with comparable cohorts at GCSE.
