The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) organised a mock judicial session for students from the College of Law at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, intending to narrow the distance between academic learning and real-world legal practice.
The training programme, held in Abu Dhabi Courts, was part of a broader effort to enhance the quality of education and training in the legal field. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of ADJD, to promote community engagement and leadership in a variety of sectors.
Students assumed diverse roles, including judges, prosecutors, judges’ aides, and defence attorneys
The mock judicial session unfolded within a designated training courtroom, with students assuming diverse roles, including judges, prosecutors, judges’ aides, and defence attorneys, fostering discussions and hands-on experience in a range of legal practices.
This opportunity acted as a bridge between the theoretical legal studies undertaken in universities and the practical intricacies of courtrooms and prosecution offices. It empowered students to apply their acquired knowledge and skills within a realistic environment.
