Dubai’s music scene is set to reach new heights as the National Youth Orchestra Dubai takes the stage at The Studio, Dubai Opera, on 26th April 2025. Presented by Encore in partnership with Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai, the event promises an unforgettable evening of music and youth talent.

This year’s concert carries special significance as it marks the seventh anniversary of the orchestra. Since its founding in 2018, the National Youth Orchestra Dubai has grown rapidly, now featuring over 200 young musicians between the ages of 5 and 18, representing more than 30 nationalities—all from within the UAE. Today, it stands as the largest and most prestigious youth orchestra in the region.

Showcasing the Best in Youth Performance

The concert will highlight the orchestra’s diversity and skill through performances by:

  • Prize-Winning Soloists and Concerto Competition Finalists
  • Senior Strings Camerata
  • NYO Concert Band

Conductors include:

  • Mr. Jonathan Barrett, UAE-based composer and conductor of the Camerata
  • Ms. Eva Gräsbeck, Finnish violinist and Head of Strings
  • Ms. Jacqueline Hayter, British bassoonist and Head of Winds, leading the Concert Band

Featured music will span from Vivaldi and Mozart to Sarasate and even a pop arrangement from A-ha, showcasing the orchestra’s dynamic range and depth.

More Than a Concert—A Cultural Milestone

Amira Fouad, co-founder and Artistic Director of the National Youth Orchestra Dubai, shared her enthusiasm:

“This concert celebrates not only our seventh anniversary but the extraordinary talent of our young musicians. We are proud to debut many of our soloists and finalists in this iconic venue. And in June, we’ll become the first UAE orchestra officially invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.”

This global recognition confirms the orchestra’s role as a cultural ambassador and a leader in music education. It also reflects Dubai’s growing reputation as a hub for performing arts and creative development. For example, recent initiatives like the Exclusive Retreat in Dubai for Theatre School Franchisees underscore the city’s ongoing investment in nurturing talent across multiple artistic disciplines.
