Demonstrating their commitment to sustainability, Nickelodeon and Pirates Surf Rescue join forces for the third time to educate children and explore the marine life residing and thriving on the pier at Kite Beach, Dubai
World Oceans Day is an annual event on June 8th, aiming to increase awareness about the importance of our global oceans and the need for conservation efforts. This year’s theme, “Planet Ocean: tides are changing,” serves as an inspiration for various communities, including enthusiastic youth activists, to prioritise the well-being of our oceans. Embracing this theme, Nickelodeon Arabia and Pirates Surf Rescue collaborated to organise an engaging and educational event, offering a unique opportunity for participants to dive deep into the beach environment, discover diverse marine life, and learn valuable lessons about preserving our precious oceans.
Approximately 200 kids from the Pirates Surf Rescue community gathered at Kite Beach, Dubai, for a workshop led by Marine Biologist Ayesha Bobat, aimed at raising environmental awareness and shedding light on the vital role of the ocean in maintaining the health and balance of marine ecosystems. This hands-on experience allowed the young participants to witness the beauty and importance of marine life firsthand, fostering a deeper understanding of the need to protect and preserve our oceans.
