Razzamataz, leading provider of exceptional performing arts education for children and young people

by Belinda Breeze

Razzamataz Theatre Schools was founded in 2000 by Denise Gosney and today we work with more than 10,000 children and young people every week in our schools across the UK, and many more within local pre-school, primary schools and senior schools

There are currently 61 schools in the UK and 45 franchisees. The Head Office employs two full time members of staff and 15 consultants. It has a network turnover circa £4 million.

Razzamataz is a leading provider of exceptional performing arts education for children and young people. The schools offer a wide range of classes in dance, drama, and singing, in both musical theatre and commercial styles, designed to build confidence, develop creativity, and enhance performing skills. The schools also offer exciting opportunities for students to participate in performances, overseas enrichment trips, workshops, and industry-led masterclasses, providing an enriching experience that extends beyond the classroom.

Why Razzamataz

Our goal is to inspire and empower young people through the world of performing arts, helping them unlock their potential and discover their passion and purpose in life. Throughout our 25 years working with children in the UK, we have witnessed the transformative power that the arts have on lives and how it supports academic achievement. We are passionate about bringing our knowledge and expertise to young people worldwide to give them lifelong skills to unlock their potential and create meaningful change.

“Razzamataz Yeovil have been a truly inclusive team. They have developed my two children’s confidence and skills in a very supportive, social and fun way. We were thrilled to see the summer performance which had inclusivity at its heart, throughout its themes and demonstrated in its practice,” Parent Bern Bulman

Global partnerships

After a successful appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den in 2007, we have since gone on to be recognised as one of the top 5 franchised businesses to come out of the popular television show.

Creating unique opportunities for our students has led us to forge strategic partnerships with key industry players to enrich our curriculum and our USPs. These include performances in London’s West End, educational and enrichment trips to Broadway, Dubai and Disneyland Paris and international performance opportunities. Through these partnerships, we ensure that Razzamataz students receive a well-rounded performing arts education, opening doors to potential careers and fostering lifelong memories.

Social responsibility

In addition to supporting our students, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities. That’s why we offer approximately half a million pounds in scholarship opportunities and support a variety of charities, including Save the Children, children’s hospitals, and hospices. These efforts are a key part of our commitment to social responsibility and supporting local efforts.

Razzamataz has its own charity called Future Fund, established to support our students going on to study performing arts at vocational level. Since its inception, the Future Fund has proudly supported ten Razzamataz students with approximately £50,000 worth of funding, enabling them to complete their training.
