Razzamataz Looking Back on a Remarkable Year

by Belinda Breeze

As the year comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the outstanding achievements of our franchisees, teachers, team members, and students.

This year has highlighted our continued dedication to inspiring creativity and innovation in performing arts education, while demonstrating the positive impact the arts have on young people, enriching their lives and supporting their futures.

Expansion and Growth

Razzamataz welcomed eight new Principals into the network, showing strong belief in our franchise model and its ability to bring performing arts opportunities to more students across the UK.

Gemma Da Silveira, the new franchisee of Razzamataz Liverpool South and a mother of three, shared: “I’ve wanted to do this for so long, but my best friend’s battle with cancer and my 40th birthday made me realise life is short. The structure and support Razzamataz offers has reassured me I’ve joined the right business to help me succeed.”

Student Success and Growth

This year saw a 20% increase in student numbers, an exceptional achievement given the financial challenges faced by many families. It highlights the value parents place on the confidence, skills, and friendships Razzamataz offers.

Success stories have abounded, from students landing high-profile roles—such as appearing in an advert alongside Joe Wicks and starring as Bridget Jones’ daughter in the new film—to glowing praise from parents. One shared: “Razzamataz has been fantastic for my teenage son, providing a creative space to develop his skills and build lasting friendships.”

Memorable Experiences for Students

Our students had life-changing opportunities, including performing in Dubai—a testament to Razzamataz as a platform for extraordinary experiences. The demand for such events continues to grow, and we’re already rehearsing for the Pre-Parade at Disneyland Paris in 2025.

Corey, a Razzamataz Weymouth student, said: “The Dubai trip was inspiring and opened up opportunities we never thought possible. Performing and experiencing the local culture was incredible.”

Life-Changing Opportunities for Principals

Franchisees also had the chance to grow and recharge through the ‘DreamEscape’ experience in Dubai. This unique trip included visits to iconic landmarks, personal coaching, and immersive development workshops, ensuring Principals returned reenergised to elevate their businesses.

Brittany Arthur, Principal of Razzamataz Lancaster, said: “Connecting with other Principals was invaluable. My coaching session pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraging me to focus on myself as well as my business.”

Continued Investment in Team Members

Our teachers are at the heart of Razzamataz, and we’re committed to their continuous development. This year’s Creative Development Day focused on inclusivity, equipping staff with the tools to create supportive and accessible environments for all students.

Rebecca Graham, a drama teacher from Razzamataz West Cumbria, explained: “The day was informative and fun. I left feeling inspired to bring everything I learned back to my students.”

Supporting Students Through Charity

As part of our 25th anniversary, we’re launching a new charity initiative to support students’ dreams. Funds raised will contribute to the Future Fund, offering financial aid for vocational training after students leave Razzamataz.
The “25 for 25” campaign aims to raise £25,000, reinforcing our commitment to advocating for the next generation of talent.

Strategic Focus on the Future

This year also saw progress towards our 25th anniversary celebrations and the launch of an international expansion strategy alongside a refreshed brand approach. Regular leadership meet-ups enabled franchisees to exchange insights and align on strategies for sustained growth and success.
