Innovative Partnership Aims to Uplift Women through Skills Training and Sustainable Income Generation
ZAKS Uniforms, a leading supplier of high-quality school uniforms in the region, has proudly partnered with the Centres for Health and Education Programmes (CHEPs) in Kenya to bring transformative change to local communities through an innovative initiative aimed at empowering women.
As part of their commitment to giving back and fostering sustainability, ZAKS Uniforms has generously donated sewing machines to CHEPs. Beyond the donation of equipment, ZAKS has also provided training programmes to teach local women the essential skills of sewing and tailoring. This initiative equips participants with the ability to earn a sustainable income, improve their livelihoods, and support their families.
The training centers train the women to make school uniforms which are then donated to the local schools in the community.
“At ZAKS, we believe that businesses have a responsibility to contribute positively to society. By providing tools and training, we aim to empower these women to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities,” said Mahir Ali Chief Operating Officer at ZAKS Uniforms.
CHEPs, a Kenyan organisation dedicated to advancing community health and education, has welcomed ZAKS’ involvement with open arms. Through this collaboration, the project is helping to break the cycle of poverty while promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship among the women who participate.
The impact of this partnership has already been felt on the ground. Many women have successfully started tailoring businesses, enabling them to provide for their families, educate their children, and invest in their local communities. These stories of transformation are a testament to the power of collaboration and the lasting difference that purposeful initiatives can make.
ZAKS is proud to sponsor this project, which aligns with their broader mission of sustainability and community support. As a company, ZAKS continues to lead by example, showing how the private sector can drive meaningful social change by leveraging their resources and expertise.
